Morgan is ONE WEEK OLD today.
its so insane how fast time goes by.
Today was also the first day we tried a bottle. She did great! and now mike can feed her to :D

Today we broke out her boppy; so that way I could hopefully get some cleaning done. She likes it; its so comfy she goes to sleep....but at least I could get some things done.

Morgan had her first doctor's appointment today! She left the hospital weighing 8lbs 20z and now is 8lbs 40z :D
I didn't take many photos of her today; but here she is in the outfit my cousin aubrie bought her.

Morgan is 4 days old! We spent all day with michael and morgan got her first ride in the stroller. She loved it.
We also had our first "new parent" moment....it was our first time going out with the baby; we got the stroller out, her diaper bag and then her! we went for a walk....and come back to the car to find one of us had left one of the car doors wide open amongst the chaos of getting everything ready! oops.
(luckily nothing valuable was in the car and nothing got stolen)

One day old! Morgan is a very alert and happy baby; she barely cries and loves to have her diaper changed.

Friday morning at around 230am my water broke naturally! I was going to be induced at 730 but there was no need :] After an epidural, 11 hours of labor and 1 and half hours of pushing.
Morgan Elizabeth Battista was born at 1:24pm.
Weighing in at a shocking 8lbs 10oz and 20 and a half inches long. She's perfect.

Round 2.

I went again to the hospital; I had made no progress so I got another round of gel...this time it was much less painful. I will be going to the hospital at 730 am to be induced; since this round of gel ive actually been feeling contractions which i am honestly happy about! My baby should be born today but we'll see just how stubborn she is.

First Trip to the Hospital.

I had an ultrasound done at the OB to make sure Morgan's fluid levels were fine; they were! So we then headed to my appointment at the hospital. The nurses hooked me up to the monitor (to watch the baby's heartbeat and my contractions) 45 minutes later the nurse realized the doctor who was going to do my first round of gel...actually was not in the hospital he left not realizing his shift didn't end yet. So after they finally got a hold of him he came in; and checked my cervix i made it to 1cm dilated by myself! haha I was actually so proud of this...they inserted the gel and had to monitor me for another hour. It was a long day; but the gel will hopefully soften my cervix and help labor progress. My contractions have gotten stronger; but I am still okay so ill be waiting it out until my 2nd appointment tomorrow!

Update.

Had my 3rd stress test done & had my cervix checked; Nothing has changed apparently I have an "unfavorable" cervix... I go back to have the baby's fluid level checked again wednesday and if she is still fine I will be induced on the 4th.

Some Good News :D

Today, I had my second stress test...Morgan is still as active as ever and heartbeat is strong.
I am still not dilated at all; I go back again on Monday for another stress test. But the doctor's have set up a date for me to be induced! I go to the hospital on the 2nd, and the 3rd (im not sure why yet) and then at 730am on the 4th I will be induced. She will be exactly 42 weeks along at that point and they would prefer she not go longer than that. She also has some time to come on her own but me&the doctor's are very doubtful that will happen.
Only 7 more days at most until my babygirl is here!

My Doctor's Appointment.

Today I had a doctor's appointment; the first thing I had to do was a stress test... they hooked two monitors to my stomach, one to moniter her heart rate and the other to monitor my contractions. I got to sit in this huge recliner and just relax it was pretty sweet! Babygirl has a strong heart beat and is very very active (especially for being over 40weeks). I am having contractions 7-9 minutes apart...but I am actually not feeling them.
Then i got my cervix checked again; I was really excited to find out how much progress Ive made; but sadly the doctor has informed me that my cervix is completly closed (0cm dilated) and not even thinned out.
Since I am already 5 days over 40 weeks; and they don't recommend going over 41weeks...I had to get an ultrasound to see if there is enough fluid still. I got to see my baby girl which was really exciting :D Although I could hardly tell what I was looking at. She has a big round head (just like her daddy) and the doctor told me "good luck with that" ....GREAT haha. It took awhile for them to get all the measurements they needed because well my babygirl is very stubborn and does not like to be disturbed! Apparently the fluid levels are perfect and im doing good mentally so they are going to let me wait it out a little bit longer so hopefully she will come naturally! I go back on friday for another stress test&appointment.
But more than likely; it's starting to look like miss morgan will be a september baby.

My First Blog!

I am starting this blog mainly for my oldest sister, Kathryn. She is home for now but will be leaving soon for her race around the world; she will be gone for about a year and leaving when Morgan is about 3months old. To keep her updated on how Morgan is doing and what she looks like; I am doing this blog! I will be posting a picture daily of Morgan so she can watch her grow as well as other random facts and accomplishments; so that way she won't be missing out on much :D

Miss Morgan was due on August 21st, 2009....but it is obviously August 25, 2009; She is currently 4 days overdue. I have a very stubborn baby and cannot wait until I can show her off!
